If you have a website then you may already know whats making headlines. :o

Google has screwed-up its over-otimization update to such an extent that all relevant websites (which were once having a good ranking in the results page) have gone down the order or vanished altogether. Matt Cutts :-\ and the google team :'( is inexplicably criticized to such levels that we have not heard of him since the whole drama happened.

You can get more info on a website which goes by the name "searchengineland"

I agree with @chrishirst the real Google customers are not complaining and are happy with the results.

Google hasn't screwed anything up? Says who? The information you get on the web? If your rankings have dropped adapt and overcome and stop complaining. Very simple.

I think the method is to start with the "volume" up to 11, wait until the crap hits the fan, then turn it down bit by bit until the neighbours stop complaining.

But having said that, it's only the "rank checking" SEOs who are whinging, Google REAL customers, the searching public seem perfectly happy with the results.

I do a lot of searching for information and research into many, many topics and do NOT see any kind of problem at all with the results.

If you are daft enough to the "keyword checking" for your own URLs, then hey, you'll probably be getting crap because it's not your document URIs getting shown.

Even Google makes mistakes. They'll tweek it over and over until they have the desired results...as they do with every big algo change.
