For that purpose, you can do the following:

1. Write only relevant, original and useful content in your website (regularly)

2. Go for Do follow Social Bookmarking and Online Forums

3. Go for Do follow Blog Commenting

4. Go for Do follow Article Submissions and PR Submissions

5. Link Exchange (only with relevant and trusted websites)

I would agree w/ everything except for link exchange. I believe Google frowns on that.

Yeah all the five tips are important for getting quality back links.But i think 1 and 2 no tips is more important to me.
