| While Google still holds some regard for DMOZ by continuing to use their directory results, DMOZ is still at a stand still. Many webmasters say the Open Directory Project (DMOZ) is dead...I disagree, ODP is just sleeping...and has been for some time now. There seem to be less and less "volunteer" editors, and fewer actually participating in the "project", minus added their own websites (and friends websites). So the questions I have is "when will ODP wake up?" And when this "once giant" awakes, what changes will be made? The other side of it is ODP may go into "a comma", get dumped by Google, then...die.

| | We can only dream that Dmoz will ever wake up. It is far from reality. It really pisses me of that Big G gives so much value to such a ODP which is literally dead IMO. It is hard for me digest the "fill it and forget it " thingy | Replica Hanbags | |

| | I think G gives less importance to DMOZ (ODP) then G used to, yet it still uses them for their directory listings - so I'm pleased SearchBliss was listed years ago. | |

| | I'm curious whether they manually remove sites or if they do have something automated. A site of mine was in dmoz and then got dropped. The editor said there were problems and told me to resubmit, but my site never got back in. | coaster furniture | |

Yes sites do get automatically removed. There is a bot (Robozilla) that checks listed sites and can remove "dead links" or "bait and switch" attempts. | Chris. ->> Links are advertising NOT optimising <<- Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?

| I guess this is the downside of having a directory ran by volunteers.. although some categories still get updated.
Recently i've been having problems submitting uk sites, it keeps saying "please select uk site" [:0] | Bestpluginsforwp.com
