| While looking for new traffic sources, like all webnmasters do, I took another look at YouTube. How can this benefit SearchBliss or your website? By generating traffic. So begins my experiment. I had decided to create a funny short film titled "Multiple Personality". How will this generate traffic? Well the typical way is having your URL in your profile or "Channel" as YouTube coins it. I am also interested in your comments and ratings on the video itself on YouTube. Is it funny (Yes, that is me )? Is the SearchBliss information obvious enough to notice and/or remeber? Is it TOO obvious? Would you recommend the video to a friend for a laugh?
Now that it is up, I will be determining actual traffic to SearchBliss from YouTube using my traffic logs as well as Google Analytics. Is it an effective form of traffic? This is yet to be determined. Is a lot of "untargeted traffic" worth the effort? I'll wait and see.
If this experiment is successful, it may be something for you to consider for your website.

| YouTube Traffic Experiment update:
Here we are at day 3. The YouTube video has 70 watches, and 3 ratings (5 stars).
According to Google analytics, SearchBliss received 11 hits through the profile. or "channel" page. What cannot be accounted for, however is the "direct traffic" as a result of seeing the information on the video.
Changes:
I began an attempt to "optimize" the video for searches on YouTube. I started this yesterday, and the hits went from 39 to todays 70. Nearly double.
What's Next?
A second video. I put a llot more thought into this one, and it shows. I will keep everyone posted.

| Well, since people are keeping this thread alive, I'll post the update.

was created because "Hannibal Lecter" was a popular subject on YouTube.
Here are the video stats right now (uploaded 8 months ago):
Views: 3,111
Comments: 14
The video did receive some good traffic, but did SearchBliss as a result...not really.
Determining how much is impossible to tell, but what I found is that like most social networks, the traffic is sporatic...and mostly useless with our our niche. My conclusion is that those who actually use social networks as intended have short attention spans...thus watching the video was probably enough...if they even finished watching all 1 minute and 29 seconds of it.
